The images in the Vernon MacAndrew archive are all original glass plates. Because these are fragile and vulnerable to damage from light and handling, and because the collection must remain in the Museum’s care, we’re not able to supply copies or share digital images at this stage.
We are planning a small display in the museum later this year using a limited selection of printed images. Once cataloguing is complete, we will review options for wider access, including digitisation. With around 5,000 images, any digitisation would need to be approached in phases and may depend on securing grant funding.
